The Barbie Rewind 80s Edition Sophisticated Style in the African American version captures the decade that invented power dressing in full — oversized shoulder pads, a matching pink belt, layered pearl accessories, white heels, voluminous curls and a hat with its own hat box, designed by Javier Meabe and packaged in VHS-style presentation with a cassette-tape doll stand.

The Rewind series launched in 2021 as a direct love letter to the eighties Barbie aesthetic, and the Sophisticated Style entry did the job the series required — taking the most recognisable silhouette of the era and rendering it faithfully, without irony, as a piece that works as nostalgia and as a well-made doll simultaneously.
