Melody Likes specialises in vintage toys, dolls, action figures, plush and collectibles from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. Our collection includes iconic lines like Barbie, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Masters of the Universe, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite and many more nostalgic favourites.
Most items are genuine vintage pieces sourced from collectors around the world.
Yes. Authenticity is extremely important to us. The vast majority of items we sell are genuine vintage pieces from the original era. If an item is a modern reproduction, reissue, or bootleg, it will always be clearly stated in the product description.
Because most of our items are vintage or pre-loved, they may show signs of age such as light wear, small marks, or missing accessories. Every product listing includes clear photos and a written description of the item's condition so you can see exactly what you're buying.
Some toys may be complete while others may be missing small accessories. We always photograph the exact item you will receive, and the images form an important part of the item description.
We make every effort to research and identify the correct accessories and components for each toy based on available references and collector knowledge. However, due to the age and complexity of many vintage toys, there may occasionally be small pieces missing or incorrectly identified.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, items should be considered as pictured. We encourage customers to review all photos carefully and contact us before purchasing if you have any questions about completeness.
Shipping & Delivery
Shipping costs are calculated based on parcel size and delivery region. We use trusted courier services and every parcel includes tracking. You will see the shipping cost clearly at checkout before completing your purchase.
Orders are usually processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days. Delivery times are typically 1–5 working days depending on your location.
We only ship out parcels Monday-Thursday.
Yes, we ship worldwide. International shipping rates vary depending on location and parcel size. If you're outside New Zealand and interested in an item, feel free to contact us and we can provide a shipping quote.
Vintage toys are packed with great care. We use protective packaging such as bubble wrap, padding and sturdy boxes to ensure your collectible arrives safely.
We are environmentally conscious and whenever possible reuse clean packaging materials to reduce waste.
Orders & Payments
We accept major credit and debit cards through Shopify Payments. Afterpay is also available, allowing you to split your purchase into interest-free instalments.
All sales are considered final once an order has been placed. Due to the unique and collectible nature of our vintage items, we are unable to offer cancellations, changes, or holds once checkout has been completed.
Once an order is confirmed, the purchased item is immediately removed from inventory and reserved for that customer.
Customers are encouraged to review product descriptions, photos and shipping details carefully before confirming their purchase.
Returns & Issues
Because most items we sell are vintage and often one-of-a-kind, we do not offer change-of-mind returns. Please review photos and descriptions carefully before purchasing.
If your order arrives damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and item so we can help resolve the issue.
Tracking details are usually sent once your order has been picked up by our courier driver.
If you can't find the email, please check your spam folder first. If it's still missing, contact us and we will resend the tracking information.
First check the tracking link provided in your dispatch email. If the parcel appears delayed or hasn't updated for several days, contact us and we will help investigate with the courier.

Most vintage items are one-of-a-kind, so once they're gone they may not return. However, we regularly source new collections, so it's always worth checking back for new arrivals.

While we can’t guarantee we’ll find every item, we’re always happy to keep an eye out and will let you know if one appears during our sourcing adventures.
Vintage toys are often rare collectibles that are no longer produced. Prices can reflect factors such as rarity, condition, demand from collectors and whether accessories or packaging are included.
Many vintage toys are 30–40 years old and have had previous homes. Signs of age such as light wear or missing accessories are part of the charm of vintage collecting.

Not at all. Many vintage toys show signs of age or play, and that’s completely normal. We’re happy to look at items in a range of conditions, including loose toys, incomplete pieces and well-loved childhood collections.
The easiest way is to send us a message with:

From there we can let you know if the collection is something we’re interested in and discuss the next steps.
Yes. We regularly purchase larger toy collections and estate collections. If you have a significant collection you’d like to sell, we’d love to talk with you.
