Golden Dream Barbie Arrives in Gold Lamé With a Faux Fur Coat — and Hallmark Made It a Limited Edition for Good Reason

The Golden Dream Barbie Hallmark Keepsake Ornament from 2017 was released as a Limited Edition — available only in limited quantities at the July 2017 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Premiere. The handcrafted resin figure gold metallic heeled shoes, and a small gold clutch bag. The hair is worn in a voluminous blonde side wave. The faux fur coat detail is constructed from actual synthetic fur material applied to the resin figure rather than being sculpted into the resin itself.

Golden Dream Barbie was originally a 1980 Mattel release — a Barbie dressed in a gold and white evening ensemble that was one of the more glamorous of the early-eighties play-line releases. The 2017 Hallmark ornament updates the concept into a contemporary gold jumpsuit interpretation rather than recreating the 1980 gown precisely, giving the piece its own identity within the Golden Dream lineage. The Limited Edition designation and Premiere-exclusive availability make this one of the more sought-after entries in the modern Hallmark Barbie ornament range.
