Princess Luciana was the antagonist of the 2007 Barbie as the Island Princess film, and her doll matched her grand ambitions — a rich purple and gold embroidered ballgown, long golden hair and a singing feature activated by pressing the button on her wrist, packaged with a tiny plush animal companion in the elaborate floral archway box.

The Island Princess film was the tenth in the Barbie animated series and gave the line one of its most dramatically dressed villains — Luciana's purple and gold palette sat in direct visual opposition to Rosella's teal and pink, a contrast that extended from the screen to the shelf and made the two dolls work as a set even for buyers who had not seen the film.
