The Celebration Barbie Special 2006 Edition Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is the seventh in the Celebration Collector's Series and the first to be inspired by a Bob Mackie-designed Holiday Barbie doll. The handcrafted resin figure depicts Barbie in the 2006 Holiday Barbie ensemble: a voluminous black ball gown with intricate gold and multicolour scroll and star embellishment rising from the hem, a white faux fur wrap draped over the shoulders, a sparkling tiara in the blonde hair, and a black evening clutch. Sculpted by Patricia Andrews, dated 2006.

Bob Mackie has designed costumes for Cher, Carol Burnett, Diana Ross and the major American awards ceremonies across six decades. His 2006 Holiday Barbie commission was his first for the Mattel Holiday Barbie line, and the Hallmark Celebration ornament followed immediately in the same release year. The combination of the black ground with gold arabesque detail is a Mackie signature — the same visual language he applied across his celebrity costume work appears here in miniature resin form on the seventh Celebration Series entry.
