The 2004 Pink Label Zodiac Collection gave all twelve signs mermaid gowns in coordinating colours, and Scorpio — the fixed water sign running October 24 to November 21, most commonly described by astrologers as intense, magnetic, and not particularly forgiving — gets deep amethyst purple glitter with a lavender faux fur stole and a rhinestone scorpion symbol picked out on the bodice. The dark-haired doll comes with a zodiac charm bracelet, hoop earrings, doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity, and has the direct, slightly unreadable expression that suits a sign whose defining characteristic is emotional depth paired with an absolute refusal to show their hand.

Astrology had a complicated cultural standing in 2004 — serious enough that a twelve-doll licensed zodiac series made commercial sense, not yet the omnipresent internet-era phenomenon it would become. Scorpio consistently performs strongly on the secondary market relative to its twelve-sign siblings, which is either evidence of collector preference or the universe making a point. The complete set displayed together is one of the more visually coherent Pink Label runs of the mid-2000s: same silhouette, twelve colours, no two the same.
