The 1950s Barbie Hallmark Keepsake Ornament from 2001 places Barbie firmly in the American teenage social world of the late 1950s — pink poodle skirt over a white petticoat, a black cardigan with a B initial detail, bobby socks, saddle shoes and a black bakelite telephone receiver in one hand. The pink poodle skirt has a black poodle silhouette appliqué at the hem. A blue 45rpm record sits at her feet. The figure is handcrafted resin with real fabric elements for the skirt and cardigan, sculpted by Patricia Andrews, dated 2001.

The 1950s Barbie ornament sits adjacent to the Barbie Nostalgia series — the long-running line that recreated vintage Barbie outfits as Keepsake ornaments — but was released as a standalone rather than a numbered series entry.
