Teresa Had the Moves and the Most Satisfying Shoes in the Range

Movin' Groovin' Teresa arrived with the same hip-swinging walking mechanism as Barbie but in a purple and blue stripe sparkle mini dress that was distinctly her own — dark curly hair piled high, hoop earrings and a confident energy that the stamper shoes, leaving their trail of stars and smiley faces with each step, gave a kind of punctuation.

Teresa was introduced in 1988 as a friend with her own face sculpt and background, and across the nineties she appeared in some of the most well-designed companion releases in the Barbie line — the Movin' Groovin' version, dressed in purple and moving with the same mechanism as Barbie but wearing it differently, is one of the better examples of how the friend range worked at its best.
