Kira's Movin' Groovin' release gave Barbie's Asian friend the same hip-swinging walking mechanism dressed in a hot pink and cobalt blue stripe dress with bold hoop earrings and long dark hair — a look that suited her beautifully and felt more confident and characterful than many of her mid-nineties outings.

Kira was introduced in 1990 as a friend with a distinctly different face sculpt and background from Barbie, and the Movin' Groovin' line was one of the moments where the range's commitment to variety felt most assured — three dolls, the same mechanism, three completely different aesthetics and personalities walking in step.
