Country Rose Barbie arrived in 1997 as the first doll in Mattel's Grand Ole Opry Collection — a brunette in a spectacular red satin dress with black suede yoke and cuffs, hand-embroidered roses, gold-trimmed fringe, rhinestone accents and two-tone cowboy boots, carrying her own acoustic guitar.

The Grand Ole Opry has been the home of country music since 1925, and this doll was designed to capture both the fashion and the spirit of the stage that made the genre global — the first in a series that remains one of the most beautifully dressed collector Barbies of the decade.
