X-Men 2099 launched in 1993 as Marvel's futuristic reimagining of the mutant concept — a new team of X-Men operating in a corporate-dystopian future where the original heroes are long gone and the struggle has taken on a harder, grimmer edge.

Toy Biz released a companion action figure line in 1995 and 1996, and Breakdown is one of the more striking entries: a hulking figure with a split yellow-and-green face, veined orange hands, and the kind of visual design that could only come from a mid-90s Marvel comic.
