Kenyan Barbie Brought a Patterned Wrap and Maasai-Inspired Beadwork to the Dolls of the World Series

The 1993 Kenyan Barbie is the DOTW entry with a colourful patterned wrap and traditional Maasai-inspired beaded necklaces — the most specific cultural reference point in the series at that point in its run, and one that gives the doll a distinct identity within the DOTW lineup. The packaging is in original condition.

The Maasai beadwork detail is the element that lifts this above the more generic DOTW entries — the necklaces reference a specific and recognisable East African craft tradition rather than a broadly representative costume, which makes this one of the more considered releases in the series.
