Little Debbie Series 1 Barbie is the first of three collector editions produced in partnership with McKee Foods, dressing Barbie as the Little Debbie mascot herself. The actual Little Debbie is Debbie McKee-Fowler, granddaughter of McKee Foods founder O.D. McKee, photographed in 1960 at the age of four in a straw hat that became one of the most recognisable snack brand logos in American history.

The Little Debbie mascot has appeared on billions of packages of Oatmeal Creme Pies, Swiss Rolls, Nutty Bars and dozens of other products without changing substantially in over sixty years — a continuity of brand identity that very few consumer products have managed, and that gives this doll a cultural weight that goes beyond the gingham dress and apron.
