Dance Magic Barbie arrived in 1989 with one of the more genuinely clever gimmicks of the era — a single convertible gown that transformed from ballgown to ballet to disco, plus a water-activated lip colour change that still stops people mid-scroll when they first hear about it.

The boa, fan, ballet shoes, dress shoes and the full accessory set are all sealed inside, making this one of the more satisfying NRFB finds in the late eighties Barbie lineup — a doll where the complete contents actually matter.
