Four Kids, Four Name Tags and the Best Party on the Patch

These Unique Industries Cabbage Patch Kids party favour name tags were produced under the Original Appalachian Artworks licence in 1985, at the height of the CPK phenomenon, and sold through Toys R Us for $1.68 — four character die-cut figures on individual hanging loops, each with a "Hello, my name is" tag attached so every party guest could be officially adopted for the afternoon.

The four figures on the card cover the full range of CPK personality — sporty, gardeny, loungy and floral-dressed — and finding the set mint on the original card after forty years is exactly the kind of small, perfectly preserved nineties artefact that makes collectors feel that particular brand of joy.
