Tenderheart Bear has been the de facto leader of Care-a-Lot since the line's first wave.

Introduced with the original 1983 Kenner lineup, Tenderheart carries the signature red heart belly badge and was frequently positioned as the face of the franchise across its early greeting-card and toy tie-ins.

Kenner's original plush run relied on a distinctive stitched-felt belly badge technique that later reissues moved away from, making early examples like this one easy to date at a glance.
