The series was designed with direct reference to the 1939 film rather than any later interpretation, which means the Tin Man reads immediately as the Jack Haley version rather than any other adaptation the character has picked up over the decades.

The Tin Man has a particular place in the cultural memory of the Wizard of Oz because his whole arc is about the thing he already has and cannot see, which is a better metaphor than most films bother with. Mattel gave him the funnel hat without irony and the result is one of the most charming Ken dolls ever produced in a collector context. The 1999 Wizard of Oz series regularly outperforms expectations on the secondary market.

Manufacturer: Mattel
Country of manufacture: Indonesia
Model #: N6562/6565
Please note that this item has not been tested as to its working condition due to it being sealed and new in box.
This item requires batteries.
