Raggedy Ann was created by Johnny Gruelle in 1915 for his daughter Marcella, the stories were published from 1918, and the character has been in continuous production in some form ever since. She has now also been in a Mattel giftset with Barbie, which she did not see coming.

The Storybook Favorites series was quietly one of the more interesting things Mattel did in the early 2000s - pairing Barbie's little sister with classic characters from outside the Barbie universe required actual licensing work and creative commitment, and the results hold up better than most of the themed collector releases from the same era. The Raggedy Ann giftset specifically appeals to three separate collector communities simultaneously, which is an unusually broad reach for a single box.

Manufacturer: Mattel
Country of manufacture: China
Model #: 56834
Melody Likes box condition grade: Excellent - View our box condition guide
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0709/4504/6718/files/2002-kelly-storybook-favorites-raggedy-ann-doll-giftset-1.jpg?v=1790590406
